Behind the Scenes

Some Integra tools have no button. They run quietly in the background (Revit calls them updaters) and keep information in the model up to date as you work, so the tags, filters and Navisworks data are always right without anyone having to remember to refresh them.

This page lists what's running, what each one does, and what to do if Revit ever warns that one is missing.

Always launch Revit from the Integra shortcut

The updaters load with the Integra add-ins. The shortcut copies the latest versions to your computer before Revit starts, so you're always running the current set.

What's running

Updater Keeps up to date Runs when Related tool
Fabrication Level Calculator The level text on Fabrication pipework, ductwork and containment, and the duct size text on ductwork, which the tags read. A Fabrication part is added or changed. Refresh Fab Level Values
Real-time Fabrication Label Processor The T.T.S. Tag value on tapers, transforms, sets, bends and reducers (FOB, FOT, SU, SD and so on). A Fabrication part is added or changed. Flip T.T.S. Part Tag Value
Fabrication Insulation Sync Tool The Navisworks service stamps on Fabrication parts and the native elements connected to them, and the Style keys on native elements such as grilles and flex duct. A Fabrication part is added or changed, or a family, duct, pipe or flex is added, moved or resized. Refresh Navis Data Stamps
Fabrication Service Tag Updater Service tag text and layout: following changes to the part's size, service, Tag Suffix or level, the part's size or the view scale. A service tag or its part changes, or the view scale changes. Service Tags
MultiServiceTag Universal Auto-Updater Multi-service tag text, tag types and landing lines. A multi-service tag or one of its services changes. Multi Service Tags
Integra Reference Tag Updater Resizes the border of each Integra Reference Tag to fit its text. A reference tag is placed or changed, or an Integra Reference changes. Ref Sequencer
Sheet Discipline Formatting Updater Expands a short code typed into a sheet's Sheet Grouping or a view's View Grouping into the full group name, so the Project Browser sorts correctly. A sheet or view's grouping is changed. Sheet & View Grouping Codes

Sheet and View Grouping short codes

Type a short code such as PRI into a sheet's Sheet Grouping or a view's View Grouping, and it's replaced with the full group name straight away, for example 02 - Primary Ductwork. See Sheet & View Grouping Codes for the full list.

If Revit says an updater is missing

If a model is opened on a computer without the Integra add-ins loaded, Revit may show a warning that a third-party updater is missing, naming one of the updaters above.

  1. Close the model without saving.
  2. Close Revit and reopen it from the Integra shortcut.
  3. Open the model again.

If you really need to carry on without the add-ins, choose to continue working with the file. Nothing is damaged, but the values above won't update while you work. Afterwards, open the model with the add-ins and run the related refresh tools from the table to bring everything back up to date.

A retired updater you may see named

Fabrication Pipe Level Calculator is an older updater that has been replaced by the Fabrication Level Calculator. It's still loaded, but switched off, so older models open without a warning. It does nothing and will be removed in a future update.
