RVTFC

RVTFC (Revit View Template & Filter Creator) keeps the look of every Integra Revit model in step with our AutoCAD Fabrication database. It manages the standard view templates, view filters and key schedules that colour and control each service, so a service looks the same on every drawing, in every project.

How it works

RVTFC comes in two halves, an AutoCAD plugin and a Revit add-in, linked by a master Excel file.

 D --> E[View
templates]
 D --> F[View
filters]
 D --> G[Key
schedules]
 1. In AutoCAD, the plugin lists every service in the Fabrication database. You choose which services go into which standard view template, set up filters for native Revit categories (air terminals, flex duct and so on), and save it all to the master Excel file.
 2. In Revit, the add-in reads the master Excel file and brings the view templates, filters and key schedules in the Revit template or a live project into line with it.

Because everything starts from the Fabrication database, a new or changed service only has to be set up once. RVTFC carries it through to Revit.

Who runs it, and when

Anyone in the team can run either half. You don't need to ask permission first, but please follow the guides so the standard set stays consistent for everyone.

Run this When
AutoCAD plugin A service, standard view template or additional filter needs adding or changing.
Revit: Sync Templates The master Excel file has changed, or you want a template or project brought back into line.
Revit: Rebuild Templates You've changed Fabrication Colour on a job (for example its link settings) and need that pushed to every template.
